by Madison Dookheran

Stem cell therapy is a type pf regenerative medicine which was created in order to restore damaged body cells through a process of inflammation reduction. Due to this, stem cell therapy is a great treatment for a plethora of medical conditions. This therapy has been used to treat neurological, traumatic injuries, autoimmune, inflammatory and more. The purpose of this therapy is to give the body allowance to heal itself while reducing medical induced symptoms in order to slow the progression of diseases.

Now you must be asking yourself, “how does stem cell therapy work?” Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have astonishing self renewal properties by their ability to divide and develop into numerous specialized cells that exist in some tissues and organs. These cells can be acquired from a range of tissues including blood, liver, skin, bone marrow, fat, etc... These stem cells are mature stem cells, meaning they present no ethical concerns.

Stem cells do not provide a solid cure for the above conditions but it does allow the body too heal itself. Due to this process, many patients tend to live an extended life span.
