Safe Medications You Can Use While Being Pregnant

Did you know that some medicines are considered to be safe during pregnancy but still have unknown effects on unborn babies? Please remember to always contact your healthcare provider with reference to current prescriptions, before taking any kind of medicines and to never take illegal drugs!

These medications can be the most harmful during the first 3 months of pregnancy mainly because women don’t realize they are pregnant.  

Over The Counter Medications Which Are Safe to Use While Pregnant:

 

 

 

 

 

Allergy Relief:

  • Claritin
  • Allegra
  • Zyrtec
  • Benadryl Tablets
  • Tylenol or acetaminophen

Pain Relief:

  • Tylenol or acetaminophen

Please Note: Do not take ibuprofen or aspirin

 

 

 

 

 

Cold/Flu Relief:

  • Acetaminophen
  • Cough drops
  • Vicks vapor rub
  • Guaifenesin

 

 

 

 

 

Dry Skin:

  • Vitamin E lotion
  • Cocoa Butter
  • Eucerin lotion

 

 

 

 

 

Itch Relief:

  • Benadryl Ointment
  • Hydrocortisone anti-itch ointment
  • Cortaid

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sleep:

  • Tylenol PM
  • Benadryl 25mg

  • Metamucil
  • Benefiber
  • Milk of Magnesia
